My name is Paul and this is what I look like:

About 13 years ago, I was abruptly thrust into the role of family cook and chief grocery buyer.  So I did what any self-respecting IT guy would do.  I got on the internet and tried to figure out what I was supposed to do.  I discovered a couple of tools and techniques and along the way, I also discovered that I LOVE to cook!    I often bore people with my food stories and go on and on about cooking and things that are probably of no interest to most people within earshot.  So as a service to the rest of the world, a couple of friends of mine suggested that I just stop talking about it, and write it down, so that’s exactly what I’m doing.  I don’t pretend to be a writer, chef, or fancy food photographer, but I’m going to try my hand at all three and we’ll see what happens together.  I may also tell other stories along the way, It just depends on what comes up.  This blog is of course is dedicated to my mom.  Her nickname was Cookie, who you will hear of often, and she has inspired this blog and in writing it I hope to keep alive her memory and everything she taught me about life and food…
